We
will be more than happy to assign additional IPs to your server. Before
we can do this, however, we will need some information from you. As
ARIN* - the governing body of IP distribution - requires justification
proving the use of allocated IPs, we will need a list of the domains
you will be using with these IPs as well as the technical reasons why
these domains cannot be virtually hosted on one IP.
This
justification should be a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) that will
be hosted on the IP. Please note that, for justification purposes,
there cannot be more than three occurrences of a domain (ie, www.domain.com,
secure.domain.com, domain.com). You will also need to provide the
technical reason why these domains cannot be virtually hosted. As soon
as we have this information, we will forward it to our DNS/IP admins.
You
are allowed up to 8 IPs without justification. However, if you need
more than 8, you must have 100% justification for the first 8IPs and
then 60% justification for all IPs thereafter.
For example, if
you have one IP and you request 35 additional IPs for your server, we
will need justification for 28 - in other words, we would require 16
FQDNs for the initial 16 IPs, plus 12 FQDNs for 60% justification of
the remaining 20.
